RFQ checklist: what engineering needs
Copy-paste list to avoid back-and-forth. Send what you have — a photo of the installed seal is often more useful than a part number.
1. Equipment
- Pump, mixer, agitator, compressor, or reactor model
- Shaft diameter (our component range covers 14–100 mm; split seals 15–219 mm)
- Seal chamber dimensions and depth, if known
- What rotates, what is stationary, what contains the pressure
2. Operating conditions
- Pressure — seal-chamber (box) pressure, not just system pressure; the two often differ
- Temperature of the medium at the seal
- Speed (RPM) and media description, including any solids content
- Flush plan in use, if any (e.g. Plan 11, Plan 21, Plan 52/53/54)
3. Reference material
- Photo of the installed seal, the leak path, and the seal chamber
- Existing part number, drawing, or nameplate — we verify, never re-ship blind
- Failure mode: what happened, and after how long in service
4. Configuration and commercial details
- Known face, elastomer, or metallurgy preferences, if any
- Quantity and needed-by date
- One attachment up to 10 MB (PDF, image, Word, or Excel) — reply to the confirmation email for more files
What happens next
- You receive a reference number immediately upon submission
- Sales checks completeness — under 4 hours during work hours
- Engineering checks fit: materials, faces, elastomer, seal chamber
- Quotation follows, with alternatives where a better fit exists
